Beauty Sleep

I don’t know about you, but I have had more restless nights trying to fall asleep than I care to remember. I am sure all of you have experienced being in bed, tired from a busy and just ready to go sleep, the only problem is you just can’t stop thinking long enough to actually fall asleep. It always amazes how fast time passes I’m trying to fall asleep, it’s 10 o’clock then the next thing you know it’s midnight. To avoid those restless, sleepless nights here are a few tips and remedies to help you on your way to some fabulous beauty sleep!
1.             Create a relaxing bedtime routine: keep noise down, have a cool, dark bedroom, and of course a comfortable bed.
2.            Read a book: Make sure you pick a book that isn’t exactly a page turned, you don’t want to end up going to bed late or staying up all night reading a book you just couldn’t put down. Pick a book that goes at a slower pace that will help you unwind.
3.            Drink a cup of chamomile or other relaxing teas: Chamomile is a healing herb that activates the back of the brain that tells your body it’s time to go to sleep.
4.            Do not eat right before you go to bed: eat an hour or two before you’re planning on heading to bed.
5.            Take a hot shower or bath: The hot water helps the body to relax by reliving tense muscles.
6.            Dream Water: This drink contains anxiety reducing and sleep inducing ingredients. And yes, I included on the list because it is called dream water, how could I leave dream water off the beauty sleep list? In all seriousness Dream Water is supposed to work very well.
7.             Dream Silk Comfort Cream: A lavender scented cream; the smell of lavender has a relaxing effect leading to some peaceful sleep.
8.            White Noise: This helps block distractions, making it easier to fall asleep
9.            Avoid Bedtime Exercise: Exercise before bed makes your body warm, making it harder to go to sleep
10.         Sleep Journal: Keep yourself on a great sleep cycle by logging in your sleep journal what you eat before bed and in the morning, how you slept, what you did before bed, etc. This will you discover the tips and remedies that work best for you to have a wonderful night’s sleep.
“Wynken and Blynken are two little eyes,
And Nod is a little head,
And the wooden shoe that sailed the skies
Is a wee one’s trundle-bed;
So shut your eyes while Mother sings
Of wonderful sights that be,
And you shall see the beautiful things
As you rock in the misty sea
Where the old shoe rocked the fishermen three:-
Wynken,
Blynken,
And Nod.”
